The Group!

Last night was epic. How else could I describe it? It was the first (of many) events to be held at our brand new Causecast HQ in Santa Monica, and I’d feel safe to say there could have been no better way to inaugurate our new space. Here’s what went down; We had crews from Falling Whistles, Invisible Children, Friends of TOMS, Westside Whistlers Society, LiNK, Causecast, and several other individuals together in one room for the first time, for a film screening of IC’s “Together We Are Free”, a powerful documentary about the struggles and successes of Invisible Children’s most recent “Rescue”. Afterwords, we had a discussion, followed by a little bit of art and creativity.

Imagine the power, imagine the inspiration, imagine the ideas; imagine all the people! It was a room full of positive energy, excitement, and dedication. As a collective of (young) organizations working tireless hours to make a great impact on different areas, regions, and people, all of us believe that it is imperative that we work together and share our ideas as we grow. As Sean  Carasso  of Falling Whistles so excellently put it- we are looking to create that “3rd space” between our work and our homes, where all of us can come together and discuss the great trials and issues of our time, brainstorming ways we can carry a positive message out to broader audience.

This screening, discussion, and mini art session was just the beginning. It provided people in the LA area who have been working towards a greater good with a chance to connect, share, and learn. A foundation has been laid  for collaboration and ideas, and it’s going to be incredible to see what this evolves into.
